She admitted that she had lost touch with reality for a bit.

In Love Aaj Kal, Sara played the lead role opposite Kartik Aaryan. The romantic drama had high expectations, especially since Sara’s father, Saif Ali Khan, had also acted in the 2009 version of the film. However, Sara shared that while filming Love Aaj Kal, she was not able to see things clearly and miscalculated how she acted in the film.Earlier this year, she even admitted that her performance in Love Aaj Kal was “horrible.”

During an interview with Film Companion, Sara stated that it was not just her performance in Love Aaj Kal but also several other aspects that she needed to evaluate. She explained that in 2019, for various reasons, she was not able to see things for what they were and miscalculated what people liked about her.She added that she was being overtly effusive, attention-seeking, loud, and people-pleasing, and she often crossed the line between candid and gregarious. The failure of Love Aaj Kal taught her to be real, see herself in the mirror, correct her mistakes, and not be too harsh on herself.

Sara stars in Gaslight alongside Chitrangda Singh and Vikrant Massey, playing a young woman in a wheelchair who returns home to find her father missing and suspects her stepmother and others may have harmed him.Gaslight will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on March 31.

Sara was last seen in another Disney+ Hotstar film, Atrangi Re, directed by Aanand L Rai, where she starred opposite Akshay Kumar and Dhanush. She also has two more films, Ae Watan Mere Watan and Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, set to release later this year.

Sara’s admission of her shortcomings and her willingness to introspect and correct herself is a valuable lesson for all of us.It is important to evaluate ourselves, correct our mistakes, and be kind to ourselves in the process.
