Samantha is currently in Istanbul, Turkey, where she recently finished filming her upcoming movie “Kushi” with co-star Vijay Deverakonda. After completing her work, Samantha decided to extend her stay in Istanbul to relax and treat herself.
During her break, she had the opportunity to experience a hammam spa, also known as a Turkish bath. This traditional practice has been popular in various regions, including the Middle East and North Africa, for many years.
A Turkish bath or hammam spa takes place in a spacious steam room made of marble, as seen in the photo shared by Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The room is heated by an aroma furnace, which produces hot air flowing through conduits beneath the floor.
Inside the hammam, there are individual sinks called “kurna,” where both hot and cold water is available. The water is poured over the body and head using metal or copper bowls known as “tas.”
To have the ultimate hammam experience, there are different treatments to choose from.At the Shangri-La Hotel, where Samantha visited, the prices range from approximately Rs 9,706 to Rs 21,618.
In a traditional hammam treatment, you’ll receive a body scrub. In the luxury version, you’ll get a body scrub plus water therapy, a hair wash, and a full-body moisturization using milk and honey.
The organic hammam spa, available at this 5-star hotel, provides a full-body massage with an organic hair mask, face mask, and a rose oil salt scrub.
When visiting a hammam spa, it’s important to know what to wear.
The classic Turkish bathing towel called “peştamal” is used to wrap the body. This towel is made of natural fibers and is a popular item to purchase in Turkey.
Some hammam places provide waterproof slippers, but it’s also acceptable to bring your own for hygiene reasons.
After her relaxing experience at the Turkish bath, Samantha is set to join Varun Dhawan in Serbia for an important shoot of Citadel India, their upcoming project.
