The Indian film RRR won the Best Original Song award at the Oscars ceremony.The director SS Rajamouli and some members of the team were seen sitting farthest from the stage during the event, which surprised and disappointed fans.
However, it was revealed that the nominated composer MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose had seats closer to the stage for a quick access.
During the announcement of the Best Original Song award, Rajamouli and his group loudly cheered when RRR’s song “Naatu Naatu” was declared the winner.
People around them turned around to look at them cheering, and some fans later commented on social media asking why the team was given bad seats.
MM Keeravani, the composer of the winning song, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the award in his speech.
He mentioned that he grew up listening to The Carpenters and now had the honor of receiving an Oscar.Keeravani is the first Indian feature film production to win an Academy Award.
He also sang his acceptance speech to the tune of The Carpenters’ hit song “Top of the World” and expressed his wish for RRR to win the award.Keeravani’s wish was fulfilled, and he thanked Rajamouli and their families for their support.
During the Naatu Naatu live performance, Rahul Sipliganj and Kala Bhairava were present as expected, but many people had hoped to see Ram Charan and NTR join them.Unfortunately, due to time constraints, the two could not participate.
However, the audience was treated to an incredible performance by Lauren Gottlieb, an American dancer, who performed the Natu Natu song on the Oscars stage, resulting in a well-deserved standing ovation.
