New Delhi, Aug 20 : The streaming huge Netflix is likely to not to show ads in children’s movies and TV series and will also keep children programming ad-free as its competitor Disney+ announced in May this year.
Netflix has informed its partners that children’s programming will not be commercial-free as per TechCrunch.

However, original shows like ‘Stranger things”, ‘Bridgerton’ and “Squid Game” are likely to continue to see advertisements.

Organizations like the American Psychological Association have called for stricter restrictions on advertising for children.

As per analysts, Netflix is likely to be one of the major participants in advertisement on video online, with approximately $4 billion per year in advertising sales.

Google-owned YouTube has now set a limit on the amount of information it and its creators can gather on content designed for children.

The company was penalized $170 million by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in 2019, as part of an agreement to end investigations into YouTube’s alleged gathering of personal information of children without consent of their parents.

Netflix in June announced that it was preparing to launch an ad-supported tier in order to reduce its losses and draw new users onto the site.

Netflix is negotiating agreements to allow ads on its platform .They will begin its launch in countries with more established markets for advertising.

With a declining number of customers, Netflix has partnered Satya Nadella-owned Microsoft for its brand new subscription plan that is ad-supported that company plans to launch in the first quarter of 2023.
