Mohanlal’s ‘Markkar’ Postponed To August 12th

The release of a lot of films has been postponed due to the rapid spreading of the second wave of Coronavirus in the nation.Many films announced the news of postponing films quite some time ago, but a few films have joined the club including Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film ‘Acharya’, John Abraham’s film ‘Satyameva Jayate 2’, and now there is another film joining the list of films that are being postponed.

The film is none other than Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal’s that is titled ‘Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham’ that translates to ‘Marakkar Lion of the Arabian Sea’ which won several national awards recently for the Malayalam version.The film has been postponed from May 13th to August 12th abiding by the national emergency with the raise in COVID-19 cases in the country.

The film is directed by Priyadarshan and will also be released in Telugu and Hindi languages simultaneously.The film might release along with Chiru’s ‘Acharya’ which is also looking at a suitable date in August.

The film also has Keerthy Suresh, Suniel Shetty, Arjun, and Manju Warrier in key roles and is based on a historical backdrop with high voltage war scenes.As of the situation now, every movie that has planned to release in summer has been postponed, due to the severity of resurging in COVID cases, and the way it is affecting everyone.
