Microsoft’s new features on OneNote incorporates AI-powered voice commands

San Francisco, Aug 7 : Tech giant Microsoft has launched a new Dictate feature for OneNote that allows AI-powered voice commands that control dictation, like the ability to delete text or reverse the last step.
AI-powered voice commands are able to edit and format text, for example, editing a word, or undoing the last step and the platform has announced plans to add additional command-line options to Dictate in the next few months, according to Windows Central.

“Now it’s easy to step free of the keyboard and remain in the flow making use of Dictate with AI-backed voice commands that edit, format, add and arrange your text.” Sofia Thomas, Product Manager of Microsoft’s Office Voice Team was quoted as saying.

“Over the course of the next couple of months, we’ll introduce new voice commands, along with those already present in different Office apps for One Note,” it added.

Dictate works with more than 50 languages and offers an alternative method to input text in OneNote.

The feature is now rolling out to everyone who uses OneNote online.It’s only available to Insiders using Beta Channel Version 2207 (Build 15427.10001) on OneNote for Windows.

To start the Dictation experience in OneNote Click the Dictate button located on the Home tab.Select the Dictation Settings button to alter your preferences.

Begin speaking to create notes.

When you’re done recording then say “stop the dictation” or press the Stop Dictation button on the Dictation tab.
