New Delhi, December 29, : , Letpao Haokip joined the BJP on Wednesday as Manipur’s Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports.Haokip, a member of the National People’s Party(NPP), is elected to Manipur Assembly.In the presence of Bhupendra Yadav (Union Minister, BJP’s Manipur Election in-charge), party spokesperson Sambit Patra and Sanjay Maiukh, head of media Anil Baluni, and Sambit Pattra (State in-charge Sambit Pastra), he joined BJP.
Yadav welcomed Haokip to the party.He said that the BJP government of Manipur had implemented many public welfare programs on the ground over the past five years thanks to the model of good governance under Prime Minister NarendraModi.Manipur was once a victim of corruption and misrule by the Congress government.
Regular bandhs were a common occurrence and people believed that good governance was essential for the future of the state.In the past five years, the BJP has brought development.”
Today, people of all ages and social classes are joining the BJP to help Manipur develop.Yadav stated that he welcomed Haokip to the BJP.
Haokip, who joined the BJP after his election, stated that “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and Union Home Minister Amit Sharma, Northeast and Manipur would be developed.” With his motto of “sabka, sabka vihwas, and sabka prayas”, the Prime Minister has taken the country to new heights.
Former Manipur Congress President Govindas Konthoujam joined BJP in August.Konthoujam, who joined the party after signing it, said that he would work to secure victory for his party with a large majority at next year’s Assembly elections.
Manipur Assembly elections will take place in February-March 2019, along with Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
