Instagram and YouTube have begun to dissuade users from posting videos on TikTok

New Delhi, Aug 19 : Threatened by the rapid growth of Chinese short-form platform TikTok Meta, which is owned by Google, Instagram and Google’s YouTube have launched new features designed to deter users of the short-form app from sharing across platforms.
According to reports that when trying to save an edited video onto an iPhone in Instagram Reels, the audio from the clip has just disappeared.

“It means that if you want to save the video from Reels to use in another application (like TikTok), you must upload the Reel first in order to preserve the audio,” The Verge reports.The Verge.

It was recently possible to download the video with audio and upload it on TikTok.

Creators are still able to post the exact Reels video on TikTok but they must first upload the video on Instagram and edit it before they download the video and transfer it to TikTok, according to the report was announced late on Thursday.

In contrast, if creators create videos on YouTube Shorts however, they won’t be allowed to download and upload the video on other apps without the “YouTube watermark”.

“If you’re an artist who downloads your Shorts from YouTube Studio to share across other platforms, you’ll see a watermark added to the content you download,” YouTube said in an update.

“We’ve added watermarks to the Shorts you download, so that your viewers can be aware that the content you’re sharing across platforms is available in YouTube Shorts,” the company said in its announcement.

The brand-new YouTube Shorts feature is being released in the coming weeks to desktops The company is also planning to expand its mobile offerings over the next few months.
