Interestingly, Neha Kakkar currently serves as a judge on the renowned singing reality show called “Indian Idol.” However, there was a time when both Neha and Bollywood superstar Ayushmann Khurrana faced rejection on the very same show back in 2005.
During Ayushmann Khurrana’s appearance as a special guest on Indian Idol 13 last year, he shared his past experience of being rejected by the show.Surprisingly, he revealed that Neha Kakkar was also among the aspiring contestants rejected on that particular day.Ayushmann mentioned that they both traveled together on a train from Mumbai to Delhi along with 50 other participants who had also faced rejection.He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be present on the show as a special guest, while Neha had become a judge, highlighting the significance of their journey from being rejected contestants to their current roles.
There is an old video circulating on social media in which one of the judges, Anu Malik, harshly criticizes Neha’s singing abilities.In the clip, Anu Malik even goes as far as saying that her singing was so bad that he felt like slapping himself after hearing it.Filmmaker Farah Khan, who was also a judge during that season, questioned Neha about her song selection.
