Congress selling Poll tickets Ahead of Assembly Polls : KTR

In a candid conversation with the press on Friday, October 13th, state Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao, affectionately known as KTR, accused the Congress of trading party tickets for the upcoming Telangana Legislative Assembly polls.

KTR asserted that a hopeful Congress ticket-seeker was purportedly asked to shell out a staggering ₹15 crore to secure a spot in the Kukatpally constituency.

Drawing attention to the recent Income-Tax raids in various Bengaluru locations and the discovery of ₹42 crore in cash at a contractor-politicians residence in RT Nagar, the minister contended that this money was earmarked for the Congresss election campaign in Telangana. He expressed concern about this concerning trend, emphasizing that the Congress appeared to be relying heavily on financial resources to contest the Assembly election.

Discussing the BRS campaign, KTR disclosed that party leader and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would actively engage in 100 Assembly segments. As for himself, the IT and Industries minister noted his primary focus would be on Kamareddy, GHMC areas, and his home constituency, Sircilla.

Regarding the electoral battle in Kamareddy, KTR confidently stated that Chief Minister KCR, who represents both Kamareddy and Gajwel, was the BRS candidate. He expressed optimism that the BRS was well-poised to secure 88 out of the 119 seats, just as they did in 2018.

He also voiced skepticism about BJP MLA Eatala Rajenders chances in Huzurabad or Gajwel."We have no objection if the YSRTP led by YS Sharmila contests from all the 119 seats, or even if the Congress’s top leader Rahul Gandhi, or for that matter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi contests from any constituency in Telangana," KTR stated confidently.

The minister affirmed that the BRS election manifesto, set to be unveiled by KCR on Sunday, would prioritize the welfare of farmers, women, Dalits, tribespeople, Backward Communities (BCs), minorities, and pensioners. He claimed that the Congress had not fulfilled its promises from past manifestoes in 2004 and 2009..
