Suspended BJP MLAs who reached the Legislative Assembly with a copy of the orders given by the Telangana High Court were disappointed.BJP MLAs were not allowed into the Speaker’s Assembly.
The Speaker made it clear that he was committed to the decision of the House. With this, BJP MLAs Rajender, Rajasinghe and Raghunandan Rao left the assembly.
The MLAs claimed that the Speaker was rejecting their request.
The High Court on Monday ruled that suspending legislators without reasonable grounds was a violation of their rights.
The bench heard an appeal filed by BJP MLAs Rajender, Rajasinghe and Raghunandan Rao against the dismissal of a single judge’s petition challenging their suspension. The bench comprising Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and A.Venkateshwar Reddy passed the order on Monday.
The High Court held that there was no reasonable basis for the decision to suspend the BJP MLAs from attending the entire House this session.
The three suspended MLAs were asked to submit a joint petition to the Legislative Secretary asking him to allow the meetings. The Secretary directed that they be taken to the Speaker before the House on Tuesday and that the Speaker hear their request and take an appropriate decision.
