It is a known fact that Deepika Padukone had announced the Bollywood remake of the Hollywood film, ‘The Intern’ with Rishi Kapoor.However, the sudden demise of the veteran actor due to cancer on April 30th 2020 left the project idle in absence of a lead actor.
The team has been looking for a replacement in the lead role now and it is finally time to announce the actor who is stepping into the shoes of Late Rishi Kapoor.
Now the latest update is that the makers have asked Mr.
Amitabh Bachchan to step into the shoes of the late actor and Big B has agreed to be a part of this film.This means after ‘Piku’, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan are all set to share the screen space again in ‘The Intern’.
Deepika has also shared the first poster of the film on her Instagram which has a yellow background and white font that writes the two actor’s names.Their silhouettes are seen walking towards each other from either side of the poster.
Deepika announced the news by welcoming Big B into the project with this first look poster.The original movie starred Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro in lead roles.Shoojit Sircar’s film ‘Piku’, swept off the Filmfare Awards in 2015.
‘Piku’ was also recognized at the National Film Awards.Amitabh Bachchan won the Best Actor National Award for his portrayal of an aged father in ths slice-of-life drama.
