Former chief minister and Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday disclosed that grain production in Andhra Pradesh has dropped by eight-lakh metric tonnes compared to 2019–20 due to ineffective policies of YSRC government.
Addressing people during his roadshow as part of TDP’s Yuddha Bheri programme, Chandrababu Naidu underlined that an incapable leadership cannot be expected to produce positive outcomes.
In this context, he pointed out that during the same period, grain production in neighbouring Telangana has increased by 90 lakh tonnes.
The former chief minister said AP irrigation capabilities can be significantly enhanced by interlinking the five major rivers of the state.
He shared with the crowd his past experiences as CM and his efforts towards supplying water to different regions.He had utilised water from Pattiseema lift irrigation project for distribution to the Krishna delta, as Polavaram project had got delayed.
The TDP chief also recalled initiation of Vykuntapuram project, aimed at transferring Godavari waters to Pennar River.He expressed confidence in the state’s potential to efficiently manage its water resources and irrigate sizable portions of land at a lower cost.
Chandrababu Naidu accused Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy of neglecting ongoing projects, while introducing new initiatives solely for the benefit of his cabinet member Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.
He commented that while he is striving to bring water to the state, the Chief Minister is planning to wet the state with blood.
