Andhra Pradesh BJP state president Daggubati Purandeswari on Tuesday called for a state-wide agitation on August 10 in support of demand by gram panchayat sarpanches for more funds.
Addressing party leaders and activists of the coastal zone in Guntur, she also called for a massive stir in Vijayawada on the same issue on August 17, demanding that the state government meet the demand of sarpanches.
She accused that YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government of diverting the funds meant for panchayats and demanded that Chief Minister Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy release a White Paper on the housing scheme for which the Central government had extended financial assistance to a tune of ₹1.8 lakh per each house.
In this context, she called upon party workers to explain to people the welfare schemes and developmental works taken up in AP by the centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Earlier, speaking to the media , Purandeswari criticised those who, she said, are spreading misinformation that the BJP government at the Centre has done nothing for AP.She maintained that the centre has sanctioned more houses for AP and extended 1.80 lakh for construction of each house.
She demanded that the YSRC government release a white paper on the numbers of houses it has built in the state and from where the funds had come.
