Om Raut’s film “Adipurush” has gained significant attention this year.The movie, featuring Kriti Sanon and Prabhas as Jananki and Raghava respectively, has faced criticism on multiple fronts.
It fell short in terms of its visual effects, character portrayals, and dialogues, resulting in various controversies.Although the film could have potentially performed well on an OTT platform, it unfortunately got leaked on YouTube and quickly garnered two million views.
However, the link to the full film mysteriously disappeared within hours, and the content was removed from the website due to suspected copyright infringement.As of now, “Adipurush” has not been released on any OTT platform.
The film, which was released on June 16, managed to collect over Rs 125 crore in India.Apart from Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, the cast includes Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh, Devdatta Nage as Bajrang, and Sunny Singh as Laxmana.
Unfortunately, the movie faced scrutiny for its dialogues, which were accused of hurting religious sentiments.
On a positive note, the dialogue writer of “Adipurush” issued an unconditional apology on social media, acknowledging that people’s emotions had been hurt.
In a shared note, he expressed his sincere regrets and extended his apologies, while also seeking unity and strength from Lord Bajrang Bali to serve the sacred Sanatan and the nation.
Due to the backlash received on social media, the filmmakers made the decision to revise certain dialogues in the film.The modified dialogues aim to address the concerns raised and create a more respectful narrative.For example, the dialogue “Kapda tere baap ka.toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki” has been replaced with “Kapda teri Lanka ka.toh jalegi bhi teri Lanka.” Similarly, “Mere ek sapole ne tumhare iss sheshnaag ko lamba kar diya.bhara pada hai” has been modified to “Mere ek sapole ne tumhare iss sheshnaag ko samapt kar diya.bhara pada hai.”
