Political heat is set to rise in Telangana with the BJP deciding to knock on every door in the state in a one month-long exercise to take its message of development and welfare in the country, and how these efforts have been hampered in Telangana by the BRS government which does not want Prime Minister Narendra Modi to receive any credit on this front, state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar has said.
The BJP’s ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’ starting from May 30 till June 30, will happen just as the BRS government launches its 21-day ten years of BRS rule and development campaign starting June 2.Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has already called on all his party leaders to celebrate the successes of the state government on the development and welfare measures during the 21-day festivities of 10 years of Telangana formation.
On Monday, kicking off a state-executive meeting of the party on Monday, Sanjay said the Chief Minister’s plan “is yet another attempt to fool people. The Chief Minister is only interested in politicking and not in the welfare of the state or its people.”
Ticking off Congress as a possible contender for power in Telangana following its win in Karnataka, Sanjay said the Chief Minister is unable to BJP’s rise in the state and is propping up Congress.“He is picking candidates for Congress where the party is weak in the state and is also funding them.Congress lost deposits in Dubbak, Huzurabad, and in Munugode bypolls.
In the recent teachers’ constituency MLC polls, Congress did not even have a candiate. How can that party be an alternative in the state? It is the BJP that won in Dubbak, Huzurabad, and rose from 4 seats to 48 in the GHMC council and won the MLC election which is the true alternative in Telangana,” Sanjay said.
“We know what the atmosphere in Telangana is.People understood that voting for Congress is of no use as that party’s MLAs will go join the BRS.The BJP will contest alone, and will come to power in Telangana, there is no doubt about that.We will take the successes of nine years of Modi government to the people, explain what the Centre did and how the state government blocked these efforts in Telangana,” he said.
