Los Angeles, Sep 13 : “Ted Lasso Star Jason Sudeikis took home his second Emmy for the best actor in comedy at the 74th annual Television Academy Awards. “Oh crazy,” Sudeikis said on Monday evening, while accepting the honor from ‘Law and Order: SVU’ stars Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay, according to “Variety”.
“I have watched at home awards shows.My mom is a huge fan of awards shows, and I’m always able to break down people’s walls who come up and say “I didn’t think I’d have the chance'” the actor said.
“And I really didn’t, as I am (of) an incredible, amazing group I was nominated with.I’m not really prepared.But I did attend classes at the Second City,” Sudeikis continued, referring to his past with Improv comedy.”So I’m going to it.”
He was also grateful to the crew and cast of “Ted Lasso,” in addition to Apple, Warner Bros.and Doozer in his speech.
“I’m truly shocked and humbled,” he concluded.
This was the second victory in two weeks in this class for Sudeikis who also won the trophy for “Ted Lasso’ in 2021.
He beat a strong field of contestants that comprised Donald Glover (‘Atlanta’), Bill Hader (‘Barry’) as well as Steve Martin and Martin Short (‘Only Murders in the Building’).
Sudeikis was awarded this year’s “Ted Lasso Season 2′ with Season 3 of the show already concluded.
An official premiere date hasn’t been announced yet for the new season.A number of cast members have said that Season 3 may be the final season of the show.
