Ukraine releases the 6,000 sq.km area from Russia in September Zelensky

Kiev 13 September : Since the start of this month Ukrainian troops have secured more than 6000 sq.km of the war-torn nation’s territory from Russian forces, according to the president Volodymyr Zelensky.
In his evening video address the President stated Monday that: “Since the beginning of September, our soldiers have liberated over 6000 sq.km of Ukrainian territory in the south and east.Our troops continue to move forward.”

He thanked the 57th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade which has come back from the heavy combat in the east, and is moving with great confidence and courage in the south.the 59th Separate Motorised Infantry Brigade that has been moving continuously despite the difficult open terrain, and the Russian artillery firing; the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade that has liberated a number of settlements and has successfully neutralised groups of Russian forces, as reported by Ukrayinska Pravda.

Zelensky also acknowledged the anti-aircraft defence forces of Ukraine.

He did not, however, disclose the Ukrainian villages and cities were liberated.

The President’s remarks are made amid an offensive by Ukraine to take back Russian territory that is occupied by Russia.

On September 8 Zelensky declared that Ukrainian forces had captured 1,000 sq.km however, by the end of the day the official figure had increased to 3000 sq.km.

Russia has admitted to losing crucial cities of Balakliya, Izyum and Kupiansk in the north-eastern Kharkiv region.

Moscow says that its troops’ withdrawing of the region in recent times as an “regrouping” with the aim of paying attention to the Luhansk and Donetsk regions in Ukraine’s eastern region.

While Ukrainian troops were moving forward, Russia still controls about five percent of Ukraine.
