Bengaluru 12th September : Karnataka surgeon Dr Govind Nandakumar’s effort to get to the Manipal hospital despite the traffic congestion to perform surgery at time has won many hearts.
The doctor was forced to run for 15 minutes before he could reach the hospital since his vehicle was stuck in the traffic jam due to the heavy rainfall and the water logging.

The video of running towards the hospital has been viewed by millions on social media and has earned him the respect of internet users.”Saviour in white coat beats traffic to save an innocent soul” said Subodh Kumar on the Monday.

Ranjan Rai was a fan of the doctor on social media as an unnoticed hero.”Proud of Bengaluru Dr Govind Nandakumar who was trapped in the middle of a traffic jam and was running delayed for surgery of his patient so he takes a walk for 3 kilometers to complete the crucial surgery in time and leaves his car in the parking lot,” he says.

The incident occurred on the 30th of August.gastroenterology specialist Dr Govind Nandakumar was on his way to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru’s Sarjapur Road for an urgent laparoscopic gallbladder operation.

Sharing his experience, Dr.Nandakumar said: “During the traffic, the Google map indicated 45 minutes to reach the hospital.It typically takes between 5 and 10 minutes to get to the hospital via this route.

“I tried to wait, but the time did not alter on Google maps, and I was scheduled for an important procedure scheduled for the morning.

I also had others throughout the course of the day.

At this point, I took the decision to walk.I train and run so I utilized the opportunity to my advantage, crossed the street, and completed 3 kilometers in approximately fifteen minutes.”

He further said that his driver took two and a half hours to get to the hospital.

Nandakumar has completed more than 1,000 operations in the last 18 years.He claims this wasn’t the first time he was able to get to the theatre for an operation at scheduled times.
