Lahore 11th September : Pakistan great Inzamam-ul Haq has urged the team’s captain Babar Azam and batsman Fakhar Zaman to make more runs while they prepare to play in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka.Inzamam has suggested both batters to score more runs in the field, rather than staying on the field for longer.
Although Pakistan has made it to the semi-finals, there are some concerns regarding the performance of the team on the front of the batting with captain Babar scoring just 30 runs in the tournament.
Inzamam the former captain of Pakistan as well as chief selector has said he hopes that the team will win in the Asia Cup 2022 finale against Sri Lanka.
“Pakistan’s struggle against Sri Lanka wasn’t visible in the Super 4 match between the two teams but today we will be celebrating the triumph of the Men in Green inshallah,” the former cricketer said during an interview on a local channel.
Inzamam said that the team must be positive in their cricket to be victorious in the final.
“Batters are always confident when they score, but not by sitting at the wicket,” he said, encouraging Pakistani batters to go after the Sri Lankan bowlers.
Inzamam praises Pakistan’s bowling attack and stated that the Green Shirts are good at the game , and the bowling of the opposing team is not enough to keep their scoring.
“Our bowling is the best of any of the teams that will be participating in Asia Cup 2022,” Inzamam said, adding that Pakistan can limit Sri Lanka in the second innings if they score 170-175 by choosing to bat first.
