Chennai 11th of September : A dissident AIADMK leader and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O.Panneerselvam on Sunday attacked the state government’s decision to raise the rates of power tariffs.In an official statement, he condemned the DMK government for the rise in the tariffs of domestic consumers , and demanded a prompt return of the rate.
In an attempt to keep the DMK of its 2021 Assembly election promise that it will increase the electricity free to handloomers by 300 units, and by 1,000 units for powerloom units Panneerselvam declared that he was against the “anti-people law” of the DMK government when it was discussed in the Assembly in July.
He added that the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulation Commission’s decision to forfeit the 100 free units of power was an “major shocker” as well as that private school and private hostels will pass on the higher cost to the public.
