Los Angeles, Sep 11 : Marvel Studios has revealed details and the first trailer of ‘Werewolf By Night”, the upcoming MCU Halloween special that will launch on the 7th of October on Disney+ this fall.Gael Garcia Bernal appears in the film in the film as Jack Russell, known in Marvel Comics as the Werewolf by Night.
The character was created by Gerry Conway and Mike Ploog in 1972, Jack is an ordinary man who has a long-standing curse from his family that transforms him into werewolves.
After overcoming his monster nature he is a hero on the move who makes use of his powers to battle monsters and other powers of evil, often interacting with others Marvel superheroes in this process, according to Variety.
Laura Donnelly will star alongside Bernal in an unidentified role.Michael Giacchino, who has composed music for Marvel films like ‘Spider-Man No Way Home and ‘Thor: The Love and Thunder’ is the director of the special.Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Victoria Alonso executive produce.
Although the event is said to be a one-off event, the potential for Werewolf by Night to pop in in various other MCU projects aren’t to be ignored.
In comics Moon Knight has appeared as a frequent guest in other hero stories, especially the more sinister characters of the Marvel Universe.Moon Knight played in the MCU by Oscar Isaac began as a villain in the “Werewolf by Night” comic.
Other characters that the werewolf is closely connected with include Blade who is due to receive his own movie with Mahershala Ali and Doctor Strange, who has been played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the MCU.
