Melbourne 10th September : Former India captain Virat Kohli, on Saturday offered a congratulatory message to Australia white ball captain Aaron Finch on his retirement from One-day International (ODI) cricket saying it was a joy to be able to play with and with him throughout the years.
When Kohli and Finch were involved in many nail-biting matches between the two nations Finch was the Australian was also member of Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 2020 season, where he was a part of the dynamic Indian cricketer.

Finch will take part in his final ODI on September 11 , when he will take on Australia in the final and third game of the series against New Zealand at Cairns.Australia have taken a commanding lead in the series of three matches.

Finch posted on Instagram after announcement of his retirement.He also thanked cricket’s community.

“It’s been a hell of an adventure! The opportunity to be with and with some of the best athletes of all time is an honor.Being a part of Australia was my goal when I was a kid, and to have the opportunity I am enjoying exceeded anything I could have imagined.

Thank you so much for all of the positive messages, words of encouragement, and good wishes!” said the 35-year old Finch.

In response, Kohli wrote, “Well done finchy.

It was a pleasure to play against you over the seasons and with you at the rcb.Enjoy the next stage of your life to the highest degree.”

In a statement released by Finch on the Cricket Australia (CA) website on Saturday, Finch said, “It was a wonderful trip with many unforgettable memories.I’ve been extremely lucky to be part of many fantastic one-day teams.Additionally I’ve been blessed with the people who I’ve played with and all the people who are behind the scenes.

“It is now the right time to offer a new coach the best chance to prepare and be successful in the following (50-over) World Cup.I would like to thank everyone of all those who supported and helped my progress to where I am today,” said Finch.
