Kamal Haasan, AR Rahman offer condolences to Queen Elizabeth’s death

Chennai 9th September : The actor pointed out that the first function of his Tamil film ‘Marudhanayagam’ could be the only film event that was attended by Queen Elizabeth II actor Kamal Haasan on Friday condoled the passing of Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on Thursday.
In a post on Twitter, Kamal Haasan wrote in Tamil: “I was sad to learn of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II who was the Queen of England for over 70 years.She was a person who gained the respect of not only the English people, but also people from all across the globe.

“Twenty five years ago,” she was invited to the first function of “Marudhanayagam’.She was gracious and thanked us.It could be the sole film production that she took part in in her entire life.

“Memories of my meeting with her at the Palace five years ago at an event celebrating culture in London remain fresh.I offer my sincere sympathy to all the family members of the royal family as well as all the citizens of England who lost their queen.”

Music director A.R.Rahman also expressed his condolences for the loss of the queen.In Instagram, he wrote: “Last I had the pleasure of meeting her at a charity performance of Bombay Dreams musical with Andrew Lloyd Webber.Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth”
