Nagercoil Nagercoil, Sep 9 : The second day of his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi addressed an event for press in Tamil Nadu’s Nagercoil and stated that the yatra was a way to repair the damage caused by the BJP.He stated that he was just an active participant and not the leader of the Yatra.
The former Congress President stated, “The RSS-BJP have their opinions on this Yatra they are allowed to express their views however, the Congress party through the Yatra attempts to repair the damage done by BJP in the last 8 years.They have divided the country.”
He claimed that the Congress leaders who have resigned from the party are under pressure “The BJP has better means to pressure the Congress leaders than I do, however the issue does not lie with the party in power.They now have agencies that perform their work wherever they’ve placed their employees.”
Rahul Gandhi has said that there is an effort to force a single idea in the nation.
He said that bringing the two sides together as well as the yatra two distinct things, and that the two joining together would be a positive thing.
He spoke of a girl with whom he had engaged during the yatra and stated that the only people of India living in harmony is Bharat but the country is split between state and religious lines.
“Only two or three business houses control the country, while price increases and unemployment is at their highest but the country’s problems are diverted elsewhere,” declared Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi is the chief of the 3,570-kilometer Bharat Jodo Yatra which will travel through 12 states and two Union Territories.
During the yatra Gandhi and his friends will be interacting with a selected group of people between 7 a.m.until 10.30 a.m.every day and an all-day connect event is scheduled in the evening.All yatris including Gandhi will be able to take a rest in specially constructed containers at the close of the day.
In advance of the yatra Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday had stated that this would be an important pivotal moment of Indian policy and be a new beginning.
