Ahmedabad 9th September : Gujarat Congress has called for a symbolic bandh in the state of Gujarat on Saturday in protest at the rise of inflation and unemployment.The Congress has urged business owners and traders to close their shutters between 8 a.m.until 12 p.m.
The state unit’s president of the party Jagdish Thakor urged the people to join in the bandh call to demonstrate against unemployment, inflation and to find regular jobs for temporary workers.
Thakor claimed that 4,36,663 qualified young people were unemployed.Some of them have been listed with the employment exchange office in the state since 4.50 lakh government positions are vacant.
Many hundreds of village panchayats operate without Gram sevak officers.
hundreds of government libraries do not have regular librarians, and more than 27,000 teacher positions are vacant.
In a discussion about inflation Thakor stated that the price of edible oil is at an all-time high of the price of Rs 3,000.The gas CNG’s price is $1,060 and petrol costs 95 rupees and the CNG price has risen to the price of Rs 84 per Kilo.”These products all affect the lives of the people,” stated Thakor.
He is instructing all districts and the city Congress committees and staff to make sure emergency services were not disrupted due to the sound of the call for bandh.
