Gujarat AAP candidacies of drinking liquor puts party on the defensive

Ahmedabad 8 September : In the days following the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced Kalpesh Patel as their Vejalpur (Ahmedabad city) constituency candidate, old photos were found to show him drinking alcohol and having a party with friends surfaced on Thursday.
His political adversaries have taken the opportunity to attack the AAP and its candidate.

The AAP has been scathingly attacked.the AAP, Gujarat BJP spokesperson Rutvij Patel has raised questions about the AAP in a statement, asking whether the party’s chief Arvind Kejriwal is going to lift the liquor prohibition in Gujarat.

Patel claimed, “One AAP candidate is photographed in an image enjoying a party with alcohol and another candidate from the party is accused of involvement in an Rs 300 crore fraud.One of its leaders is anti-Gujarat and has misled the tribal communities about the Narmada project.

AAP members and the party believe in the double standard.The people of Gujarat won’t vote for these AAP candidates or their party.”

In defense of Kalpesh Patel AAP spokesperson Yogesh Jadvani said, “Can anyone prove that Kalpesh was drunk in Gujarat and the socializing could take place outside of Gujarat or out of the country, but drinking is prohibited in Gujarat and not in the outside world.”

In a scathing attack on the BJP The AAP spokesperson stated that the BJP is in the spotlight in the health infrastructure, education and health sector, so it isn’t interested in discussion of issues that are fundamental to the country.The party is attacking political adversaries and politicians on personal issues in order to discredit them.
