Gujarat Cong plans to get the panels of candidates’ aspiring candidates ready by the end of September

Ahmedabad 8th September : The Gujarat unit of the Congress has announced an agenda for the finalization of potential candidates’ panels for every Assembly seat.
In September the party will complete the list for the scrutinising committee as well as the the board to be approved by the board.

The Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in December 2022.

In certain districts where each seat has at least three or four hopeful candidates will likely to provide their bio-data to district committees.

For some seats, aspiring candidates range from one to 16, according to sources from the party.

The state party’s president Jagdish Thakor on Wednesday evening urged hopeful candidates to submit bio-data to city or district Congress committees by September 12, which will then be provided by the committees of the districts to the state unit of the party before September 15.

The bio-data will be scrutinized by the state party’s leadership on the 18th of September, and on September 21 22 and 23 the in-charge for zonal, election committee members views and opinions of the members of the election committee will be heard by state party’s leadership.

In the 2017 Assembly elections in Amreli district, all five Assembly seats of Amreli district were won by the Congress.

The MLA is now representing five seats, and one MLA shifted to the BJP and won the by-election with the basis of a BJP symbol of the poll from Dhari seat, according to Dhirajlal Raiyani, Amreli District Congress Committee president.

Raiyani further stated that in all five Assembly seats, the current MLAs could be nominated however, in Dhari and one additional seat there are two to three hopefuls to run however, the Congress will convince them to take over for MLAs who are already sitting.

Surat District Congress Committee president Manhar Patel is optimistic that the group will be able to meet its deadline in finalizing the panels.On each seat are between four and five candidates, with the exception of Mangrol seat, which has sixteen candidates are in the fray.

In the 2017 Assembly elections in 2017, Congress was the only party to win on the Mandvi seat, the remaining four seats were won by the BJP.
