Sriperumbudur 7th September : After paying tributes to the memorial to his father in Tamil Nadu’s Sriperumbudur on Wednesday, in advance of the launch of Bharat Jodo Yatra Congress chief Rahul Gandhi declared that he lost his father to the politics of hatred, but that he will not lose the country due to it.
“I lost my father to politics of hatred and division.I’m not willing to lose my dear country to it either.Love will triumph over hate.Hope will defeat fear.Together, we will conquer,” he tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi paid tribute to his father, the former Premier Late Rajiv Gandhi, who was killed in Sriperumbudur on May 21, 1991.Later, Rahul Gandhi will travel to Kanyakumari to begin his Yatra.

It will be a prayer gathering in the Mahatma Gandhi Mandapam and National Flag Handover Ceremony will take place at Gandhi Mandapam after which Rahul Gandhi will walk with Bharat Jodo Yatris.

The spokesperson of the party Shama Mohammed stated “The significance lies in the fact the fact that Gandhi, Vivekanand and Thairivuallvur represented tolerance and this is the southernmost point of the country.

She took on the BJP and declared that they are worried about this Yatra like they did Yatras in Volvo buses, but this one will bring people together.

The Congress leader has said that the people will be informed about the rise of inflation and the polarisation of communities.
