The Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency has a new head.

On Sunday, Chilean voters overwhelmingly had rejected the new constitution that was set to replace the constitution drafted during General Augusto Pinochet’s military dictatorship.

In a referendum, nearly 60% of the voters voted against the progressive version.

The process of replacing Chile’s constitution that was based on military rule began three years ago when massive protests erupted across the country which is usually regarded as a savior of stability in the region.

Nearly 80 percent of Chileans have voted in favor of replacing the constitution of the past in an election in October of 2020.

The new document, written by an constitutional body whose members had been elected by voters, proved to be too radical for some.

It would have made Chile as a “plurinational” state recognizing the rights of indigenous peoples of the country which comprise about 13 percent of the total population.

They have rights to their land and resources.

The draft, which was later rejected, would have altered a number of Chile’s institutions including changing the Senate with the Chamber of Regions.

It also included the most important demands of women’s organizations including the right to have an abortion and the requirement that women have at least 50 percent of posts in the official establishments.
