Dubai 7 September : India captain Rohit Sharma was disappointed that his team was unable to win by 10-15 runs in the six wicket loss against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Super Four stage match and said that losing such matches will help the team learn more.

A brilliant attack by captain Rohit Sharma (72 off 41) helped lift India to a thrilling 173-8 in 20 overs.Following Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav (34 off 29) was the second highest-scoring player for India.

In pursuit of a rival score, Kusal Mendis (57 off 37) and Pathum Nissanka (52 off 37) scored half-centuries as Sri Lanka reached 174/4 in 19.5 overs.

The skipper Rohit was adamant that his team’s poor performance overall for the loss.

“We ended being on the wrong side and it was as easy as that.

The type of runs we had could have been capitalized some more.We were 10-15 runs short.The players in the middle have to understand what they must accomplish and the kind of shooting can be done.” Rohit spoke at the ceremony after the match on Tuesday.

He stated that the two defeats that followed were an excellent lesson for the Indians.

“This team has been on a great run for a long time.

losing this kind of game will help us to improve as a team.It was a decent performance with the ball especially considering the beginning they had.The spinners came out and bowled vigorously.

“In the final analysis, Sri Lanka held their nerves very good,” said Rohit Sharma.
