Shardul Thakur replaces injured Prasidh Krishna in India ‘A’ squad

New Delhi, Sep 4 : All-rounder Shardul Thakur has been replaced by injured Prasidh Krishna in the India A team for the ongoing series of three matches against the New Zealand ‘A’ team which is being played in Bengaluru.
In the midst of a down with back spasms the 26-year old Krishna was unable to play in the first test, a four-day one that began on Thursday.

After being included in the India A team, Thakur had to be removed of the West Zone squad for the Duleep Trophy in which he was earlier named as according to a Cricbuzz report said.

Left-arm pacer Chetan Sakariya of Saurashtra has been selected in Thakur’s spot in the zonal team.

The West Zone selectors on Sunday selected the 24-year-old left-arm pacer from Rajkot in the Ajinkya Rahane-led team to participate in the inter-zonal competition, which will be held from September 8 through 25 in Tamil Nadu.

The 30-year-old Thakur will be joining the India “A” team, which is led by Priyank Panchal, in Karnataka soon.

It has been reported that the pacer was on vacation in Thailand and that an SOS was sent to him in order to be back in the country within a few hours.

The opening game between India A and New Zealand ‘A’ ended in an unbeatable draw on Sunday.

Two more matches are scheduled in the “A” series that will begin on the 8th of September and finish on the 15th in Hubli and Bengaluru respectively.

India ‘A’ squad: Priyank Panchal (c), Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraaz Khan, Tilak Varma, KS Bharat (wk), Upendra Yadav (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Saurabh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Umran Malik, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal and Arzan Nagwaswalla.

West Zone squad: Ajinkya Rahane (c), Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Yashasvi Jaiswal Rahul Tripathi Chirag Jani Het Patel Hardik Tamore Shams Mulani Tanish Kotian Atit Seth Chintan Gaja, Chetan Sakaria, Jaydev Unadkat, and Satyajeet Bachhav.
