New Delhi, Sep 3 : Former India Skipper and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, on Saturday, expressed his inability to take part as a cricketer in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) Benefit Match that will be held on September 16 , at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.Ganguly who was cited for his professional obligations such as his work as an administrator, to not take part in the second season of LLC and is expected to watch the game between Indian Maharajas and the Eoin Morgan’s World XI at the stadium.
In a letter to the League Ganguly, he offered his cricketing friends his best for the charity match and for the upcoming season two of the LLC.”I want to convey my sincere wishes to you for the Legends League initiative.It’s an amazing idea of returning retired cricketers playing on the field and interacting with fans of all ages.I am grateful to you for granting me the chance to participate in the unique Legends League game at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata on the 16th of September, 2022.”
“However because of my professional obligations and my ongoing work with the cricket administration, I won’t be able to play in this match.I am sure that the fans are anticipating this tournament and I am sure there will be huge attendance at the venue.
The league will bring together the most stalwarts of cricket and I am certain there will be some exciting cricket to watch.I will be in the Eden Gardens Stadium watching the match.”
Through this match the league hopes to commemorate the 75th Azadi Amrit Mahotsav and the total profits of the game will be given to Kapil Dev’s Khushii Foundation; for supporting girls as well as their educational.

Greats of the game from 10 countries will take part of this unique charity match between India Maharajas and World Giants to raise funds for the noble cause.The match on September 16 is followed by games in Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack and Jodhpur.
The venues for the Play-offs and finals remain to be determined.
