London 2 September : The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have named Phil Salt in their squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia later in the year with Jason Roy missing from the 15-member group due to an disappointing run for the national team as well as in The Hundred.

Dawid Malan has also earned an recall following his performance in the recent England series against South Africa.Malan is a left-handed batsman with an average strike rate of 148.27 in T20Is this year and is the similar substitute for Morgan.He is also the leading scorer of The Hundred with 358 runs at 59.66.

In the bowling department, Tymal Mills, who was the most prolific wicket-taker at the last tournament to the point of injury that ended his tournament was omitted of the main team but was added as a traveling reserve with Liam Dawson and Richard Gleeson as per ICC.

The ECB confirmed that seamers Mark Wood and Chris Woakes have recovered from their respective injuries and are selected in the squad of 15 players.The team hopes to improve on their semifinal run in the previous T20 World Cup, and start their 2022 season on the 22nd of October against Afghanistan in Perth.

England have announced 19 players for the Pakistan tour ahead of the T20 World Cup, featuring five players who are not yet capped: Jordan Cox, Tom Helm, Will Jacks, Olly Stone and Luke Wood.

The squads for the Australia series are identical to the ones they’ve chosen for the T20 World Cup.
