Former Bihar Law Minister’s bail plea rejected, blames BJP

Patna September 1, : A court in Bihar’s Danapur on Thursday denied the bail request of the former state law minister Kartikeya Singh in an abduction case in 2014.
Singh’s lawyer made a case for bail, but the judge was not impressed with his arguments and denied the plea.The court had requested Kartikeya Singh to come before the court, but he did not and this could be the reason for the court’s decision to deny his bail.

Kartikeya Singh Kartikeya Singh, alias Kartik Master is wanted in the case of kidnapping in 2014 of the name of Rajiv Ranjan of Bihta.

The victim had made the evidence against Kartikeya Singh in violation of section of 164 of CrPC.Singh requested bail in 2015 and in 2017, but the court refused his bail twice.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday dismissed Kartikeya Singh from the position of Law Minister and handed him the post of sugarcane.Singh however, resigned his position as minister.

“I was humiliated by the leadership of the BJP even though my name was not being in FIR.The person who took my name in his statement under section 164, where he declared that he saw me five kilometers away from the scene of the crime.The reason for this was my caste.I am a member of the Bhumihar caste and BJP does not want to allow Bhumihar to be a cabinet minister under the RJD the quota in the Nitish Kumar government,” Singh said.

“They were attempting to destroy my image as a politician.It’s a negative impression of my political party RJD as well as my leadership.So, I’ve took the decision to quit the position of the cabinet minister.” Singh said.
