Bengaluru 30 August : Fintech platform Razorpay on Tuesday named veteran Arif Khan as its Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) in his second time at the company.In his first time in Razorpay from 2017 to the year 2019, Khan led several key initiatives and helped to create an integrated business model for the firm.
Between, he worked as Chief Digital Officer at the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) in which he was responsible for strategic planning related to digital transformation of the company.
“During his previous tenure with Razorpay, he played a crucial role in creating several of the important elements of our capabilities in banking and cultivated solid relationships with different stakeholders outside of the organization,” said Harshil Mathur co-founder and CEO of Razorpay.
“We are sure that his years of working with the most prominent financial institutions will aid Razorpay in expanding its vision of creating the financial backbone of small-scale enterprises in India,” Mathur said.
Khan will head the risk management, banking regulatory affairs, as well as public policy team at Razorpay.
“I am determined and look forward to contributing to the Razorpay’s mission to address all aspects of payments and banking for businesses .I am thrilled to be an integral part of Razorpay’s story once more,” said Khan.
He will play an important role in managing the company’s engagement with banks as well as regulators, networks and strategic partners in order to help drive innovation within the company.
With a $80 billion TPV company, the company is planning to have a 10-12 million customer base by the end of next year.
