Mumbai 29 Aug : The late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan will make his debut with Qala.Directed by Anvitaa Dutt, who previously directed the streaming film “Bulbbul”.A sneak preview of the hit song “Phero Najariya” from the film was shown to the audience during the Netflix Films Day on Monday.
The story is set in the 1930s and into the late 1940s, “Qala” tells the life story of the charming, young, playback singer.It’s about her tragic history as well as the manners in which it comes to terms with her and causes her to unravel at the height of her hard-earned fame due to the impact of her tense relationships with her mother.
Set the mood of the movie, the teaser song shows Tripti Dimri channelling emotion in an old-fashioned avatar with the soulful tune composed by Amit Trivedi, whose lyrics of the song were composed by Kausar Munir.
Present in the audience at the event was the director Anvitaa Dutt together with the cast members – Swastika Mukherjee Babil, Tripti Dimri and Amit Sial.
Dutt who earlier worked with Tripti in “Bulbbul” and said “Qala is a story that I have been longing to tell and I am thrilled that it will be amplification across borders and screened in more than the world in 190 countries via Netflix.”
She said: “This is my second time with the same incredible producer as well as actor, platform and crew.The journey has been pure pleasure.We all of us are so thrilled about the project.”
The film also features Neer Raao Avinash Raj Sharma, and Ashish Singh.The film is made by Karnesh Ssharma under the banner of Clean Slate Filmz.
