Amaravati, 29 August : Andhra Pradesh BJP President Somu Veerraju has criticized the Y.S.Jagan Mohan-led government for what he claimed was causing obstructions in Ganesh Utsav celebrations, however a state minister has denied the accusations.Veerraju said that the government of the state has imposed restrictions on the installation of Ganesh mandaps in different areas of the state.
He claimed that the government was requiring organizers to seek permission from various departments, thereby creating obstacles in the event.
The BJP leader claimed that the Director General of Police himself said that the organizers of Ganesh mandaps need to be granted permission from fire departments and electricity as well as police departments.
He declared that the BJP will fight against such inhumane policy of the Jagan government.
Veerraju declared that he would go to Ganesh mandaps in Ganesh without permission and urged the government to take him into custody.
He claimed that during the Covid-19’s pandemic the YSRCP government imposed no restrictions on the major festivals of Hindus using the Covid-19 protocol.
The BJP leader claimed that he has sent an email to the Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and urged him to address the issues he has raised.
The Minister of Endowments Kottu Sayanarayana has said that an untrue propaganda was being propagated regarding Ganesh mandaps.He claimed there was no basis in the claim that the government has been imposing limitations on the Ganesh festival.
The minister also pointed out that for any event an amount of Rs 100 in challan is required to be paid in order to get permission.Similarly an insurance fee for fire safety of Rs 500 is also required to be paid.
Satyanarayana said that some people were spreading falsehoods on social media.He said that these people were playing god to play political games.
Ganesh Chaturthi is scheduled be celebrated on August 31st.The nine-day celebrations will end with the immersion of idols on 9 September.
