New Delhi, Aug 29 : External Affairs Minister S.Jaishankar will be visiting the UAE beginning on August 31, to chair the 14th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) and the 3rd India-UAE Strategic Dialogue with his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. “These meetings will give an opportunity for both Ministers to look over the full range of the strategic partnership that is comprehensive between India and the UAE and also global and regional developments.While on the trip, EAM will also meet other UAE officials,” said a statement from MEA.
There have been frequent high-level interaction between India and the UAE in 2022.The Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid visit to Abu Dhabi on June 28 this year.
He also had a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Prior to that, both leaders also held the Virtual Summit on February 18 at which the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was signed and a Vision Statement was adopted.
Both leaders also took part in the I2U2 Summit held virtually on July 14.
The MEA stated that both India and the UAE are determined to move forward in their relationship in various areas, including investment, trade renewable and conventional energy food security, health, skill development education defense, culture space, consular issues and people-to people ties.
These topics were also addressed at a formal level in the meeting of the Sub-Committees of the JCM which took place on August 23-24, 2022.
