Pandya posted figures of 3/25 and 33 not out of 17 balls.

He made 52 runs to take the fifth wicket with Jadeja (35 off 29) to get India to the finish line with two balls left.In the end, Pandya finished off things in fashion by thrashing Mohammad Nawaz for a six over long-on.

“Our strategy is to perfecting the preparation in preparation for the T20 World Cup (in Australia in the coming months) and the more chances we can get the more successful. If we encounter the same situation again and we do, then definitely we will rely on the lessons learned from this game (against Pakistan),” Pandya said in an interaction video with Jadeja uploaded by BCCI on its website on Monday.

Pandya admitted that the goal of trying to chase 147 on a difficult wicket wasn’t easy and the team was “challenged”.

“Happy to have won this game because it was crucial for us.our nerves were tested. As as a team we were very much of also pushed.

However, I am awestruck by how Ravindra Jadeja came out and played. For him, the batsman’s order was different, the circumstances were different, and the manner in which he tried to take advantage of the spinner with the left arm (Mohammad Nawaz) which was extremely important,” said Pandya.

Jadeja added that it was crucial for him to play in this situation, considering that he was promoted in the batsman’s order.

“It was extremely important since I was elevated in the batsman’s order.

So, I was thinking of taking my chances against spinners and try to play the bigger shots. Our team (Jadeja-Pandya stitched a stand of 52 runs) was extremely important from a game’s perspective of perspective. The manner in which we interacted mid-pitch.it was a sign that we would be able to build on our strengths and take our natural shots, which was crucial,” said Jadeja.

Pandya was also of the opinion that the partnership brought attention to the middle order, because the majority of the time Indian cricket is popular as the “top three”.

“Jaddu (Jadeja) and I have played together for the past 7 to 8 years. It’s an important thing to note because the Indian team is famous by its top three (batters). Therefore, we are extremely thankful that we are having the opportunity to achieve this (win matches for the nation),” added Pandya.
