Pope will meet cardinals to discuss Vatican constitution

Vatican City, Aug 29 : Pope Francis will meet with the College of Cardinals on Monday for a two-day meeting on the document that acts as the Vatican’s constitution.
The name is “Praedicate Evangelium” The new constitution aims to put the powerful Roman Curia in greater service of local churches, according to the news agency dpa.

The document is one of the pope’s most important reform initiatives, and aims to encourage an effective dissemination of the religion and promote the development of a more constructive dialog, Francis stated in the preface to the document.

In the course of the reforms the Pope has reorganized the powers of the Holy See and allowed women to lead these dicasteries, also known as dicasteries.

The Pope along with around 200 cardinals will be in attendance for two days of meetings behind closed doors.

The only scheduled public event is an end Mass on Tuesday with the 20 cardinals who were installed on August 27.
