By Shaneer N Siddiqui Dubai 28 August : Team India head coach Rahul Dravid has been tested negative for Covid-19, and has joined the team in Dubai ahead of the blockbuster Asia Cup game against Pakistan on Sunday evening.
Dravid’s return is sure to boost the team’s morale of the cricket team as it tries to avenge the loss of 10 wickets that was inflicted by Pakistan in the same venue at the ICC T20 World Cup last year.
Dravid had been positive for Covid-19 on 23 August and his participation in the Asia Cup in doubt, with the former batter and current National Cricket Academy (NCA) director VVS Laxman named the interim head coach.
Dravid’s presence is a huge relief for the skipper Rohit Sharma, as the pair attempt to build their playing XI with an eye at the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in the next few months.
Dravid was evaluated by the BCCI medical team.Following this, he was found to be uncooperative for Covid-19 he was permitted to take the plane to Dubai.
