Beirut 28 August : Iranian ambassador to Lebanon has stated that the country is willing to donate fuel oil in the event that Lebanon required to do so. “Iran is eager to offer all-inclusive support to Lebanon.Our country is willing to provide fuel oil to Lebanon subject to receiving the consent of the Lebanese government and the official visit of an official delegation to Tehran to coordinate directly regarding this issue,” Mojtaba Amani was quoted in the National News Agency reported.
He said the statement in an interview with Ali Youssef Hejazi, secretary-general of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party in Lebanon, Xinhua news agency reported according to the report.
Lebanon is a country that has a the lack of foreign currency reserves is having difficulty in getting enough oil to ease the long-running energy shortages.
The month of September 2021 was when Lebanon was granted tanks of Iranian gas oil in an effort supported by the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah group to ease the shortages despite certain Lebanese anti-Hezbollah factions expressing concerns about the possibility of the US imposing sanctions against Lebanon following its imports of oil from Iran.
