New Delhi, Aug 27 : Twitter has told the parliamentary panel strict data security standards and that the majority of employees are not granted access to the user’s data.Twitter employees were asked questions by the panel chaired by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday.
Sources have stated that the members questioned an ex-employee Peiter Zatko’s allegations and was clarified that the government didn’t require them to hire their employees in the company.
The micro-blogging site also denied any leak of data that the business might have done.
The panel had called Twitter and IRCTC to discuss privacy concerns with data.
According to the Lok Sabha the step was “to take a look at the views of the officials of Twitter India on the matter of citizens ‘ data security as well as privacy”.
The committee will hear the views of individual/stakeholder/experts on issues related to digital platforms, technology and Gig economy relating to the subject of citizens’ data security and privacy.
It also has called for an update from the IRCTC representatives.of IRCTC about the subject.
