Lee Jung-jae will reprise her role from “Deliver Us from Evil” in spin-off series

Seoul August 26, : “Squid Game” actor Lee Jung-jae will return to his role as a mad killer in “Ray” the TV show that was spun off from the 2020 Korean action-horror film “Deliver Us From Evil”.
Korean media sources say that Lee will be a star in and produce the show with his own Artist Studio company and Hive Media the producer of “Deliver Us From Evil” has been contacted for more details.

In the original film Hwang Jung-min portrayed In-Nam an ex-black agent of the ops who travels to Thailand in search of an abduction.

In the end, he is pursued by Lee’s character Ray, an ruffian from Korea-Japanese who’s brother was killed by the In-Nam.

The two are both heavily tattooed and charming, Ray embarks on a bloody rampage of revenge.

“Ray” is set to reveal the backstory of the enigmatic Ray and explain the reasons why he came to be such a brutal killer and putting him in the same position as other villains from around the globe.

Hong Kyung-pyo, a cinematographer from Ace – with credits that include “Parasite”, “Broker”, “Burning”, “Snowpiercer” and “The Wailing” – will take over the helm of “Deliver Us From Evil” and serve as the director of photography.

Pre-production is expected to start in 2023.

No streaming platform addition has yet been made public.

“Deliver Us from Evil” was released in August 2020 during the break in Korea’s security measures to combat pandemics.The film earned an astonishing $28.9 million in the hands of 4.36 million people who watched.

Lee is currently on the rise as director, producer and the lead of “Hunt” the 1980s-set spy drama that premiered in Cannes.

The film received mixed reviews in Cannes, with several foreign reviewers finding it confusing.Lee has since altered the cut for international viewers, with a new version scheduled to premiere in Toronto.

Korean viewers have not had problems with the inter-Korean complexities, and have placed the movie at the top of the box office for the last two weekends.Since its release on August.10, the film has earned gross revenue of $26 million from 3.35 million ticket sales.

Lee was the very first Asian actor to win the top actor award in drama or streaming series at the 2022 Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards.He is also a part of another season of “Squid Game.”
