New Delhi, Aug 26 : Casting Director Taranvir Singh, who has been linked with famous TV shows such as “Nima Denzongpa,” “Spy Bahu’, and others, calls the actors’ remarks unfounded about being fired for not trending on social media.He states: “I heard actors claiming that casting requires a popular profile on social media.This is not true in any way in regards to television.In some music videos , people like having a bigger followers.Every media has its own needs.Films and TV don’t require anyone to be a hit with Instagram.”
“To be honest, a large amount of cash and time are put into in creating the show.Therefore, one should be a good actor first.
A producer shouldn’t put their brand to take advantage of someone who is unable to perform.If someone is fitting in the style and can perform the same, then it’s a different ballgame.”
Singh mentions how he broke up with “Nima Denzongpa” star Surabhi Das, who is from Assam through auditions, and not by locating her profile on social media.
“I have met her in her hometown while we were auditioning for the show.We needed a North East face.She was there for the audition, and then her selection took place.She did not have the status of a social media celebrity at the time, but following the program she became famous.”
Many people claim that the lead actors are vetted by channels and producers.he responds: “Casting director only cares for the character as well as other criteria.It’s all teamwork.Only those who are able to fit in perfectly in appearance, acting wise, and budget-wise are chosen.Channel team, producers creative team, and channel team suggest those who, according to them, are a good fit in and casting directors evaluate actors who they believe fit in perfectly.”
