Islamabad The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, on the 25th of August : The poliovirus that is wild was detected in the samples of the environment from three other cities of Pakistan’s Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provinces The Health Ministry said on Thursday.
The virus was discovered in the samples of sewage of Peshawar and Bannu cities of KP and the capital city of Punjab Lahore the Ministry informed Xinhua the news agency.

It stated that the samples of the environment were collected from 70 sites across the nation.

In the last few days the virus was discovered in the samples of Rawalpindi, Sialkot and Bahawalpur cities of Punjab the Ministry of Health said.

Wild Polio-I has been found in 17 environmental samples this year.

However, the extent of its presence throughout the country cannot be determined due to the monsoon rains, floods and monsoons in Sindh as well as Balochistan provinces, as per the Ministry of Interior.
