Hyderabad 24 August : Self-declared civil rights and social activist Syed Abdahu Kashaf, has caused a controversy following the fact that he used the controversial ‘Sar tan se juda’ as a slogan while organizing a protest against BJP MLA Raja Singh over his alleged insults to the Prophet Muhammad in Hyderabad.Kashaf Kashaf, who was the Former IT cell chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and advocated for the beheading of Singh in the wake of his reported comments.
During the protests that broke out on Monday night following the MLA shared an image posted on social media, Kashaf made a statement that reads “Gustakh-e-Rasool ki”ek hi saza, Sar tan se juda” (beheading is the only punishment for anyone who slanders the Prophet).
Kashaf was chanting the slogan during protests in front of the office of the Deputy of Police (South Zone) and Commissioner of Police (South Zone) in Hyderabad on Monday.
He posted the video of the demonstration on social networks, in which he was seen waving the slogan.Kashaf who has more than 50k followers on Twitter has stood by his position.
“There is no question about the sole punishment that is due to anyone who has disrespected the Prophet,” Kashaf said.But, he added that as “we live in India and have our constitution, we have staged an open protest in the name of democracy to call for his detention”.
He called the release of Raja Singh on bail as a pity.
In his defense, Kashaf said that he was not in agreement with the idea that he should be charged with inciting violence.”No one was injured because of my campaign.No property, whether private or public, was damaged.
There was no law and order issue was created.There has been no incident similar to what occurred after the slogan of “desh ke gaddaron ko”goli maro salon ko’ was used,” he asserted.
In response to questions about the implications of the slogan that was proclaimed by the man, he, while speaking to a channel on television was quoted as saying “Hyderabad is completely under our control.”
In the hope of immediate action Social media users demanded the arrest of Kashaf for using such a the slogan.They claimed that he is “inciting violence”.
Some people also mentioned Kashaf’s encounter with stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui at the show of the latter in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Singh has threatened to stop the show claiming the comedian “insulted Hindu gods”.The police had placed the MLA on house arrest and provided security to ensure the peace of mind of the event.
