The film that is due to be released tells the tale of the fall and rise of “BlackBerry’

Los Angeles, Aug 24 : A film from “The Dirties” and “Operation Avalanche director Matt Johnson titled ‘BlackBerry’ will explore the development and decline of the BlackBerry device that was the first smartphone in the world and controlled the market long before the iPhone and Androids entered the scene as reported by Variety.
The film has concluded its production.

The brand experienced a dramatic rise in the 2000s, only to experience a devastating loss.

The Canadian parent company of BlackBerry Research in Motion Research in Motion floundered in legal battles and eventually lost its market share to competitors like Apple and Samsung.

As per ‘Variety’ at the center of the tale is the business connection among co-founders Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie.

The cast of the film is headed by Jay Baruchel and Glenn Howerton.

While it’s not yet known, it’s probable that they’ll be playing the founders of the company.

The cast also includes Cary Elwes, Saul Rubinek, Rich Sommer, Martin Donovan, Michael Ironside and Johnson.

The magazine also declares the fact that Johnson and Miller have adapted the screenplay of the bestseller book of 2015 “Losing the Signal: The Untold Story of the Extraordinary Rising and Spectacular Fall of BlackBerry’ by Jacquie McNish and Sean Silcoff, who were previously reporters at Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail.
