Los Angeles, Aug 24 : The US has confirmed more than 15,000 cases of monkeypox, according to the most recent data provided by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).An estimated total of 15,433 cases of monkeypox were reported in the United States in the week of Monday morning, Xinhua news agency reported citing CDC data.
New York had the most cases, with 2,910, followed by California with 2,663 and Florida with 1,588 cases, according to CDC data.
The Biden administration has come under critics in its responses to the monkeypox outbreak for instance, the inability to order sufficient vaccines, speed treatment and offer tests to help ward away the spread.
So far it appears that so far, the US has the highest total of monkeypox cases.
In the last week during the past week, the US also saw the biggest increase in monkeypox-related infections of any other country according to information obtained from the World Health Organization.
